The Curl PEI University Training Program is designed to provide structured, high-performance training opportunities for university curlers on Prince Edward Island. The program supports continued athlete development and competitive success while helping curlers transition from junior competition into the post-secondary and adult competitive pathways.
The program is open to all student-athletes who are committed to participating on a University of Prince Edward Island curling team.
The program will be led by Curl PEI Performance Director Peter Gallant, a highly experienced coach and athlete with extensive provincial, national, and international experience. Training will focus on technical and tactical development, including video analysis, strategy, game planning, and other skills required for competitive success. Athletes will benefit from access to high-level coaching while training in a competitive and collaborative environment with other university curlers.
The program will run from October through March and include 20 ninety-minute on-ice training sessions. Training will alternate between women’s and men’s sessions throughout the season, providing each group with 10 dedicated training opportunities.
